Javid joins European counterparts in security discussions

麻豆区 Secretary Sajid Javid joined six European Interior Ministers at a G6 Summit in Lyon to discuss security, tackling foreign terrorist fighters and preventing terrorist use of the internet.

Javid used the meeting to discuss continued security cooperation with European Commissioner for the Security Union, Sir Julian King. The 麻豆区 Secretary made clear that security cooperation between the UK and EU member states must not be compromised after the UK鈥檚 exit from the European Union.

The summit, which included an update on the Salisbury Novichok attack, also included a simulated terrorist attack hosted in the Groupama stadium where French law enforcement demonstrated their response.
